Conduct desktop and customer research to become the go-to expert on the market landscape: industry trends, competitor strengths and weaknesses, target customer personas, needs and pains, customer buying journeys and key use cases
Define and iterate the product positioning and value proposition to keep the product competitive in a highly saturated market
Influence the product roadmap according to market and customer research findings to find and maintain product-market fit
Own the product story and sales narrative, expressed through product messaging which translates highly technical functionality into accessible and appealing value tailored to the different customer segments (including creation of website copy, marketplace listings, blog posts, white papers, customer case studies, etc.)
Harness market, customer, and product expertise to create effective sales enablement collateral that empowers Sales, Client Services, Consulting and Partners to convert leads into happy customers
Create and own the product’s Go-To-Market plan, working cross-functionally with Product, Design, Content, Digital, Sales and Consulting teams to deliver it
Plan and work with wider marketing team to deliver growth, lead generate and retention marketing campaigns, as appropriate at the various stages of the product life cycle
Track, analyze and report on product adoption and marketing campaign performance
Represent the product and company at remote and in-person (where appropriate) industry events
Degree in Marketing, Business or Computer Science, IT or equivalent discipline
Two or more years’ experience in a Product Marketing role
Experience working with complex technical products
A strategic and entrepreneurial mind that identifies opportunities and takes the initiative to act on them to deliver value to customers and the business
Excellent written communication, presentation, and delivery skills
Strong interpersonal skills to work with a variety of stakeholders, influence the product roadmap and assert Marketing and Customer requirements
Ability to easily manipulate and analyze complex datasets and spot actionable trends and key insights from customer usage and behavior patterns
Experience taking new products to market and understanding the appropriate marketing strategies and channels at different stages of the product life cycle
Ability to interpret and communicate complex technology product messages into customer-facing business and technology content
Experience of email marketing, paid media channels, organic media channels and website optimization at the various stages of the marketing/sales funnel
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in an agile, fast-paced environment
Experience working within and influencing collaborative teams, particularly with product managers, UX designers and researchers and engineers
Has held a technical role in the past or has a technical background
Has experience working on a B2B product
Has worked in the SaaS industry
A creative flair and aptitude to create and deliver engaging, convincing presentations
